In 1991 a compelling dream originated at LARK Toys to create the ultimate toy, a one-of-a-kind hand carved carousel. This dream is now a reality when the first public rides took place at the carousel grand opening in May, 1998.

Nineteen exquisite carousel animals were designed by Donn to be realistic, but oooooh, the extra details! For example, inset on the girth of the sweet faced mother River Otter are real clam shell buttons and strands of seaweed cling to her neck. The otter kit is perched behind mom's saddle on a pile of weeds and fishing net. The carousel animals were all carved and painted on-site to enhance the uniqueness of each individual design.

Visitors to LARK will find the magnificent carousel located in the recently completed Carousel Building which also includes a collectible toy store, a concession area, and Larkasaurus Park an entertaining area for parties. The carousel works were made in Marion, Ohio by Carousel Concepts and delivered to LARK in late April, 1998. The carousel was assembled on-site during the month of May.
