LARK
stands for Lost Arts Revival By Kreofsky, a fitting name for a small
family-oriented company dedicated to "bringing back" toys crafted
of wood. Wood is a wonderful medium for a toy; warm, individual,
sturdy, real, repairable, and renewable.
LARK
Toys started in 1983 when Donn Kreofsky began designing and making
wooden Noah's Arks and pull toys in his garage. Sarah helped with
the staining and selling. Soon they had to build a small toy factory
to keep up with orders from over two thousand specialty stores across
the country.
Today LARK Toys is a destination point for thousands of visitors
each year. The 31,500 square foot complex is an enchanted spot that
you must see. We offer unusual shopping and browsing in five specialty
areas all under one roof - The Magic Troll Toys, Carousel Christmas,
End of the Tale Books, Moose Tracks Museum, Rocking Cafe, and the
LARK Toys Carousel.
LARK
customers would tell you that we are a one-in-a-million combination
of specialty shopping, dreams, talent and hard work, playthings
from the past, and the most beautiful carved animals they have ever
seen. They will mention in particular our three special characters:
KRAL the troll in the toy store rafters, Barney the clawed frog,
and GIP the pot-bellied pig.
The Moose Tracks Museum is an especially poignant area for adults
who can recall playing with the same toys years ago. We have collected
thousands of toys from the 1900's - 1960's and they are all on display
for your enjoyment. Tin toys, construction sets, board and card
games, tops, licensed characters, trucks and
cars, trains, books and novelties from another era spell great delight
for all ages.
View the map and make the trip! LARK Toys
and Carousel is a treat for families as well as a special destination
for bus tours, civic and school groups, and international visitors.
You don't need to save entertainment like this for a rainy day.
Rain or sun, LARK's lots of fun. Don't miss the store
tour!
